Many people believe that being able to fly is the true definition of freedom. Watching a plane disappear in the clouds fuels a reaction within us that there are horizons that we have not even begun to fathom. Yet, Epictetus said, “Only the educated are free!” The individuals of the Piedmont Silver Eagles Charitable Funds Inc. have been given the opportunity to live out those possibilities and now we want to give this freedom back to you. We recognize that the merit of education in our ever-changing world is too great to go unseen. The Educational Scholarship Fund is our chance to make the prospect of education a reality for those less fortunate.

Education is more than a piece of paper. It is about commitment, not only to yourself, but also to others around you. Education is also about courage, the valor to declare that we do not have all the answers, but that we are willing to go on the flight and search for them. It is through learning that we emerge into the world at our greatest potential. The Educational Scholarship Fund was created in order to help others reach that potential.

The Educational Scholarship Fund will award scholarships to individuals based on their motivation, sincerity and integrity. The individuals experience with leadership activities, community involvement and true need for the scholarship will also be taken into consideration. At this time scholarships ranging from $250 to $1000 dollars will be awarded. The amount of funds and the number of scholarships given will be determined through the annual budget set by the Piedmont Silver Eagles Charitable Funds Inc., Board of Directors.

Our hope for the future is that we will be able to award full scholarships to individuals who are searching for that freedom.
